The diagram 2 shows the two meters, as well as the boundaries of ownership and responsibility between the Grid and the self-consumer for installations connected at the LV and MV levels of the Grid. Specifically:
- Meter 2 is installed in place of the existing meter for the consumption installation (if the existing meter is not capable of bidirectional measurement/recording) by ΔΕΔΔΗΕ, and is an asset of the Grid.
- Meter 1 is installed by the self-consumer, who also procures it at their own expense, in accordance with ΔΕΔΔΗΕ’s instructions regarding accepted types. It is certified at the ΔΕΔΔΗΕ laboratories before installation. When the connection is activated, ΔΕΔΔΗΕ personnel inspect and configure both meters and seal them. Meter 1 forms part of the internal installation and is an asset of the self-consumer.
- In cases where the generating station is connected to the electrical installation through a new transformer, Meter 1 may alternatively be installed on the MV side of the transformer, using suitable voltage and current transformers. In cases where the primary winding of the new dedicated step-up transformer has a voltage different from 400V, the energy generated must be measured using a metering device on the MV side.
