Virtual Simultaneous Net Billing (virtual net-billing):

The offsetting of the electricity generated by the generating station against the electricity withdrawn at the consumption supply for offsetting by the self-consumer, which is carried out over a time window equal to the Imbalance Settlement Period (15 minutes of the hour), based on certified metering data from the competent Operator, while the self-consumer may be compensated for surplus energy, provided that this activity does not constitute their primary commercial or professional activity.

The consumption installations for offsetting are not electrically connected to the internal electrical installation of the generating station, even if they are located on the same or an adjacent site. Generating stations may be installed in any Region of the country, regardless of the location of the consumption installations for offsetting, provided that both the station and the consumption installations are located within the same electrical system, that is, the Interconnected System or, for the Non-Interconnected Islands, the corresponding electrical system.
