Questions

What are the environmental and urban planning permit requirements for installing ground-mounted photovoltaic stations?

Photovoltaic stations with a capacity less than or equal to 1 MWp that are installed on plots of land are exempt from environmental permitting, provided they are not located in a Natura 2000 network area or in a coastal location less than 100m from the shoreline boundary, excluding rocky islets.

Otherwise, the stations are classified as Category B under Ministerial Decision No. ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΙΠΑ/53510/3616 (Government Gazette 3327 B/19.5.2023) and are subject to Standard Environmental Commitments (Π.Π.Δ.). In all cases, approval for small-scale construction works is required to install photovoltaic stations on plots of land.
